At Saturday Night S.T.E.A.M., we invite students to join us for an evening of fun and learning!

For students entering grades 1-6 for the 2023- 2024 school year

Looking for a fun and learning-filled Saturday night for your kids? Look no further than Saturday Night S.T.E.A.M.! Our program is the perfect blend of STEM and art activities designed to spark creativity and curiosity in 1st-6th graders. Parents can drop their kids off for a night of exploration and adventure while they enjoy some much-needed time to themselves. With hands-on projects, games, movies, and snacks, your child will have a blast while learning new skills and making new friends. 

Each month, Saturday Night S.T.E.A.M. will have a new and immersive theme. Your student will transform into a chess grandmaster as they challenge new friends to a game, or become a medieval knight engineering catapults to defend their castle. These interactive and group based activities will excite students’ imagination as they learn through fun.

Join us on the last Saturday of every month for an unforgettable night!

June 24, 2023: Build-A-Thon

5:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Help us kick off our Saturday Night STEAM program with a Build-A-Thon! Young builders will use LEGO bricks to explore the principles of physics through fun and engaging challenges. From constructing bridges that defy gravity to building epic fidget spinners, kids will discover the science behind balance, stability, and motion. Hold onto your bricks and get ready to have an exciting evening of LEGO mastery and physics exploration!

July 29, 2023: Checkmate

5:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Calling all chess enthusiasts — from long time chess lovers, to curious beginners!  Students who are new to chess will learn the intricacies of the game, while advanced students can showcase their skills and engage in thrilling matches. This will be a night of fun and friendly comradery that will unleash your inner grandmaster. 

August 26, 2023: Castles & Catapults

5:00 PM – 8:30 PM

Kings and Queens and everyone in-between! Your castle is under attack — you must build a catapult to fight back — before it’s too late.

Crafted in the spirit of medieval warfare, your catapult will be put to the test as you aim and launch projectiles at opposing castles, engaging in epic castle defense battles. With safety measures in place, the fun-filled event promises excitement, teamwork, and strategic thinking. Gather your friends, put on your armor, and get ready to be catapulted into an evening of adventure.

September 30, 2023: Slip & Slime

5:00 PM – 8:30 PM

In this hands-on workshop, students will concoct their very own slimy masterpieces using a wide range of ingredients and recipes. From glittery to glow-in-the-dark, students will craft and take home their personalized creations. Get ready to stretch, squish, slip and slime!

October 28, 2023: Dr. Tutor’s Gone Mad!

Dr. Tutor’s gone mad! The once esteemed academic has lost their marbles. No one has been inside their lab in years…until now. Dr. Tutor is away and you have received a personal invitation to continue working on their spooky experiments. 

Join us for a diabolical evening of chemistry and witness the magic of reactions, transformations, and discoveries. You will have the opportunity to mix, measure, and observe as you conduct hands-on experiments. From colorful chemical reactions to overflowing potions, you’ll unlock the secrets of the elements and explore the mysteries of the lab.

Black Friday special morning session

Coder’s Arcade

8:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Join us for a night of creativity and innovation as students delve into the world of coding and game development. During this Black Friday special event, students will learn the fundamentals of programming and design as they build their own games from scratch. Our inventors will combine the worlds of software and hardware by constructing physical components that complement their digital creations. With hands-on lessons in programming, conductivity, and the vital connection between hardware and software, this night will spark the imaginations of budding coders and creators alike.

Health & Safety Guidelines

  • Masks are now optional during camp
  • Frequent hand washing and use of hand sanitizer will be encouraged throughout the day
  • Each student will have their own general supplies and cubby
  • Staff will be required to thoroughly disinfect the center frequently throughout the day
  • Any public place where people gather presents an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 or other communicable illnesses. Families must abide by Tutor Doctor Hawaii’s policies and procedures to mitigate this and assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19 and other illnesses.

Behavior Expectations

Tutor Doctor Hawaii upholds the fundamental principle that every individual should be treated with dignity, respect and care to allow the opportunity to learn in a safe, fun and caring environment free from inappropriate language and unsafe or unethical behavior.  Every student plays an important role in our camps, and we all must act in a manner that promotes care and mutual respect for each other.  The safety and well-being of each and every one of our students and team members are of our highest priority, and we kindly request that you please discuss these behavior expectations with your child.  In the event that a student behaves in a way that disrupts the camp experience for others or endangers other students or team members, parents will be notified immediately and students may be sent home.  Tutor Doctor Hawaii reserves the right to ask children not to return to the learning center if their behavior consistently and negatively affects other students and team members.  In this case, tuition fees will not be refunded.

Attendance

All students and staff are required to stay home and not attend camp if they are feeling sick or showing symptoms of illness. This is a key step in keeping our center safe for everyone, and we kindly request for parents to assess their children before coming to camp.  If your child will be staying home and missing class for any reason, please report this to the office.

Booking Fee

All registrations will be subject to a $1.99 non-refundable booking fee required by our integrated registration software, Sawyer. This will be applied once per order at checkout. 

Cancellation Policy

Should you choose to cancel your registration for any reason, you must provide notice 14 days before the date you are enrolled in to receive a full refund minus a $5.00 processing fee. There will be no refunds issued within 14 days of the session date. In the event that a session has low enrollment, we may cancel the session and offer a full refund.

Drop Off & Pick Up 

Please drop off your child at the learning center between 4:45 PM – 5:00 PM. 

Please pick up your child at the learning center anytime but no later than 8:45 PM.

Parents and guardians are required to sign their children in and out of the learning center.

Dinner and Snacks

For dinner, you may send a home packed meal or sign up to join our pizza party purchased dinner.  The purchased dinner includes 2-slices of cheese pizza, chips and juice for $6.50 (taxes included in pricing). Purchased dinner will incur additional cost separately charged to your card on file following your registration. If you have any questions or need assistance in ordering your purchased dinner, please feel free to contact our team, and we will be happy to assist you.
